Dust to Dust
Dust to Dust; is a visual artwork that explores the themes of oneness, transience, and self-mirrored image through the innovative use of bio-textile (developed and formulated through the artists previous bodies of work) and dynamic lighting.
Inspired by using the organic shapes of sand dunes, the installation serves as a metaphor for the temporal nature of our physical existence and the interconnectedness of humanity. Within one of the dune structures, there will be a deliberate hole or opening that allows sunlight to penetrate and cast a focused beam of light onto the surrounding area, This intentional element represents the importance of self-reflection as a means to illuminate and recognize the "other" beyond surface-level differences. It encourages visitors to have interaction in introspection and contemplate the profound connection that exists between us all, despite our various backgrounds. Visitors to the installation can be invited to walk via the space, experiencing the interplay of colours, textures, and the lights consequences. The goal is to create an immersive environment that sparks contemplation and encourages a experience of interconnectedness and empathy
